And as I like having my pets hearty (it´s the size that counts ) then they usually die in the process of training them if I´ve just got a new pet while already being lvl 20 myself. And my skillbar is also so crowded with other skills that comfort just doesn´t fit in... I really have to think about a beastmaster build in Factions, just have to see what new pets it will bring us.

As I like having my pets Dire (it's the size and damage that counts), they tend to die unless I make an effort to keep them up. I make sure to feed them in excess (via Predator's Pounce ) so that they keep up their strength. lol

For the disbelievers who are so certain only hearty pets get huge:

The regular sized pet next to my necro:

The dire sized pet next to my necro:

The two pets side-by-side (what a pain to get that screen...):

well thats a little unaccrate in a way since it seems your necro is the shortest size possible. My ranger is medium size and the dire strider is only a little taller than her. Oh and I do not use my pet anymore sinced my skillbar is used for better degen and damge dealing skills.

I dislike my pet with a passion because she takes up 2 slots on my skill bar.

Cant remember the last time I used it in pve, it's just a waste of slots. Unless you're in one of those b/p tombs teams.

Some people actually attempt to *role-play* which is, sorry to say, a futile effort in this game. I try to keep my pet alive too, especially in PvE, since there is some semblance of role-playing there.

In PvP it's all about practicality/effectiveness.

Most people wouldn't know role-playing from roadkill, so they don't care about their pets at all.

Uh... it doesn't matter what size my necro is (actually slightly above average height, like all my casters) because she was simply used as a measuring tape. You'll notice the first two pictures are both there for a reason: one shows her versus the regular Moa, and the second shows her against the Dire version. That way you have a frame of reference for comparing the two. I'm not trying to say that all Dire Moas are going to tower over your character; I'm saying that Dire Moas are gigantic compared to the level 3 guys wandering around, just like the Hearty ones are.

Since that seems to be difficult to understand, let me help with another image. Here I have taken the two previously posted images and laid them over-top one another such that both images of my necromancer match up. Clearly, the Dire Moa towers over the normal Moa.

How could you talk like this? Nooblets has feelings. One time after he killed an ettin, I used comfort animal and he brushed against my leg while purring. I love you Nooblets.

Kurt, that reminded me of my pet lizzard my mesmer has... the stupid thing keeps rubbing up against his legs! (yeah, he's not a nice person so has some problems with pets).

As for my lynx... the ranger got deleted last night including the pet (though I was sad about the Lynx).

Rabbit Thumpers rock! My Pet Spider Cruncy and my Trusty Malions Malign Hammer have crushed many a unwary foe in our monumental grip.

That is a personal attack on Nooblets. You realize what the rules say about personal attacks. Oh look what you did, Nooblets is crying. You shouldn't say mean things. "Its ok Nooblets, I still love you"

My warrior started out with Ranger secondary for the pet, somewhere around Kryta I got rid of my pet because I just couldn't handle the penalty of my skills being disabled for several seconds (twice).

and off course the emotional drama of having my pet die time and time again.
